Westchester Park on the southwest side of Springfield is an 11-acre site added to the park district in 1965. The park is a commons between residences and serves as a drainageway for the area. The park is bounded by Westchester Boulevard on the south, the Wabash Trail on the north, and residences on the east and west.
The park is a passive area accessible only by pedestrians. It has a picnic area and playground with both new and older equipment. The remainder of the park is turf with trees scattered throughout. The paved drainage ditch runs through the central area. On the north side where the park widens, area is available for limited open space activities. A park sign is on the south side adjacent to Westchester Boulevard.
