Exciting news for fishing enthusiasts—Trout Season has officially kicked off! Across the state of Illinois, over 50 ponds, lakes, and streams are being stocked with fresh Fall Trout, and two of Springfield Park District's most popular fishing spots are ready for you to cast your line.
This season, Southwind Park is stocked with an impressive 785 lbs of trout, while Washington Park's Upper Pond offers 200 lbs, ensuring plenty of opportunities for a great catch.
To join in the action, be sure to have a valid Illinois Fishing License along with an Inland Trout Stamp. Licenses and stamps can be easily purchased at DNR Direct locations such as sporting goods stores, bait shops, or other local retailers.
