Today is Thursday, January 30, 2025. Due to recent warmer temperatures and incoming rain, the upper pond at Lincoln Park is now CLOSED for ice skating. The surface has started to melt, making conditions unsafe.
We will continue to monitor the ice daily and provide updates, but for now, please stay off the pond.
Please call 217-544-1751 for more information.
PLEASE NOTE: The Park District will post Outdoor Winter Ice Skating Conditions on our Park Blog page as well as on Social Media Monday – Friday, during normal business hours.
These posts are “date stamped” – should you find a past date post, your final confirmation that it is safe to skate on outdoor ponds will always be posted on site at Washington Park, Lincoln Park and/or Southwind Park with the usage of park signage.
Signs are covered if conditions are good to skate and signs reveal NO SKATING if conditions are unsafe. When heading out to skate, be safe, never skate alone and always defer to the park signage daily for final guidance on whether skating is open.
