  • Only a parent or guardian may register a minor and sign the waiver.
  • Review all registration, transfer, and refund information and policies.
  • Payment must accompany registration.
  • Members or Households with a delinquent balance shall not be allowed to register for Park District programs, purchase season passes or rent facilities until said balance is paid in full.

Creating an Account

Online registration is easy and secure at the Springfield Park District. To create an online household account, residency must be verified by first visiting one of our customer service locations. Residency will be verified annually by Park District Representatives. Learn more about how to create your new online account to continue to the FUN with parks and recreation!

Create Online Account

Update Username & Password

To update your username and password for your online account, once you are logged in, select the My Account menu and click Update Username & Password. You can change your Username and/or Password on this screen. We recommend using your email address as your login. Passwords must be a minimum of 6 characters and contain at least 1 number, 1 letter, and 1 special character. If you forgot your username or password, click on the Forgot Password link on the front page and enter your email address. You will receive an email with instructions on accessing your account and resetting your password.

Waitlists

If a program registration deadline has not passed, you can add your name to the waitlist for the program through our online registration system. No fees are charged to join the waitlist. Login to the registration portal with your Username and Password. When searching for activities, those that are full will have a yellow Waitlist status. Click the Select icon to add it to your cart and follow the prompts to complete the checkout process. You will receive an emailed confirmation once you have successfully joined the waitlist. When a space becomes available in a program for which you are waitlisted, a Recreation Supervisor will call you to see whether you are still interested in registering for the activity.

Residency

RESIDENTS/NON RESIDENTS

Defined The term resident refers to Park District residents who live within Springfield Park District boundaries and who contribute financial support to the Park District through property taxes. Some residents with a Springfield mailing address may not be residents of the Springfield Park District. Please contact the Customer Service Desk at 217-544-1751 ext. 1004 if you need residency information.

The nonresident fee structure is in place to ensure fairness to our residents. Residents of the Park District contribute financial support to the District through property taxes. The Park Board has elected the nonresident fee structure to make nonresident use of our programs and facilities equitable to our residents. “NR” means nonresident.

HOUSEHOLD ACCOUNTS

This account consists of up to two adults and unmarried dependent children, less than 26 years of age who reside at the same address full time. If there are two or more families living at the same address, where there are more than two adults over the age of 26, then two or more accounts must exist.

Household accounts must be created before registering for classes and programs. If you have not updated your current account or do not have an account with us, bring a completed Registration Form, along with a photo ID and qualifying documents to verify residency status to one of our customer service locations for setup.

*Note that a current drivers’ license, government issued ID, or passport must be one of the qualifying documents if you are an Adult over the age of 18.

Insurance

The Springfield Park District is unable to assume responsibility for injuries or accidents occurring at programs, activities, parks, and facilities. Carrying medical insurance for participants would make the program user fees prohibited.

Park District Waivers

Forms are required and must be signed when registering yourself or your minor child for Springfield Park District programs and/or memberships.

Food Allergy Awareness

If your child is allergic to certain foods please call the program supervisor or manager upon confirmation of registration.

Minimum/Maximum

For each program at the Park District, there's a minimum number of registrations needed before a class can run. We like to keep the student/program supervisor ratio low to ensure you get a high quality program. In order to determine adequate registration and to avoid disappointment, we highly encourage you to register early. When a class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment, a full refund will be issued.

Program Cancellations

Cancellations due to low enrollment - When a class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment, you will be notified by phone or email and a full refund will be issued.

Cancellations due to weather - Program cancellations due to weather will be posted on the Rainout Line. This line will keep you up-to-date when adverse weather affects our programs.

Springfield Park District Rainout Line: 217-203-6004

Facility or District - Wide Emergency Closures - The Park District endeavors to keep its facilities and programs operating whenever possible. There are times, however, when weather, road conditions or facility malfunctions dictate that programs and/or services must be cancelled or temporarily postponed or entire facilities closed. In order to provide employees and patrons with a safe and secure environment in which to work and play, the Park District reserves the right to close a particular facility or cancel a program using the following criteria:
1. Program cancellation will be consistent district wide unless there are facility specific reasons for cancellation.

2. In all situations, the Park District reserves the right to adapt this procedure and make decisions based extenuating circumstances and/or on the safety of staff, patrons, and/or participants.

Because weather and road conditions can change dramatically as the day progresses, the Park District will monitor weather conditions and announce closing updates throughout the day. Communication regarding any weather related closing and updates will be posted on the Park District website, Facebook, and app.

Update Household Information

Changes to household accounts cannot be completed online. Please visit a Park District facility to update your account. Proof of residency will be required. Please Note: Only those who reside permanently at your address are permitted to be on your household account. Proof of residency may be requested at any time.
