What type of Golf Programs can we sign up for?

The Park District manages four public golf courses. Bunn and Lincoln Greens are both 18-Hole courses, while Bergen and Pasfield are both 9-Hole courses. The Park District employs certified PGA and LPGA Professionals. Each course is equipped with Pro Shops which contain snack shops, equipment for sale and rent, as well as golf cart rentals.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Prime Season
April 1 - October 31, 2022
All courses open half an hour after sunrise on
weekdays and at sunrise on weekends. The pro shops
close an hour and a half prior to sunset.

Fall Season
November 1 - December 15, 2022
All golf courses will open daily at 8:00a and close one
and one half hours before darkness.

Youth Golf

PGA Junior Golf League

The Springfield Park District is excited to announce the expansion of our PGA Jr League program. It's our goal to have 4 teams with up to 12 players per team.

PGA Jr. League is a game-changing opportunity for boys and girls to learn and play golf. The program brings family and friends together around fun, team golf experiences with expert coaching from PGA and LPGA Professionals.

PGA Jr. League is all about the recreational and developmental nature of regular season supervised practices and matches, held between May 1 and July 31.

During the course of one game, teams play four 9-hole matches in a popular two-person scramble format, reinforcing the team concept and creating a nurturing environment for learning the game. Coaches can also substitute players every three holes, so that all of the golfers on each team can participate.

PGA Jr. League is open to both boys and girls, 13 and under of all abilities!

Junior Golf Camps

Ages 6-13

The Springfield Park District Junior Golf Camps consist of 9 hours of instruction by PGA Professionals that will cover all facets of golf including etiquette, Rules of Golf, putting, chipping, and full swing instruction. Kids will also have an opportunity to play in a scramble format. (Amount of time on the course varies by age.)

WHEN: May 1st - See below
COST: $100.00 per camp. Limit one camp per child.
- CAMP #1: June 6-9 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm each day
- CAMP #2: June 20-23 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm each day
- CAMP #3: July 18-21 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm each day

*The first 3 days of instruction will be held at Lincoln Greens G.C. The last day of camp will consist of play in a scramble format at Bergen G.C. with lunch following.

Pasfield Fall Jr. Golf League

The Pasfield Fall Junior Golf League is a 7 week program that runs from mid-September through October that provides junior golfers ages 9-13 the opportunity to play in a weekly organized 9-hole golf league with various formats of play.

Age 9-13 at Pasfield G.C. on Wednesday's after school.

The cost of the league is as follows:

Pasfield = $83.00 ($20.00 registration fee + 7 green fees @ $9.00 each)

Each golfer that registers will receive a 7 round punch card that can be used any weekday (in case they miss a day of junior league). Jr. golfers that have a season pass at Pasfield Golf Course will only be required to pay the $20.00 registration fee.

Group Golf Lessons

The Springfield Park District offers a series of four one-hour group golf lessons. Taught by PGA/LPGA Professionals, each session will provide instruction on all aspects of the game including pre-shot fundamentals, putting, chipping, and full swing. Students will also get an opportunity to go on the course and learn proper etiquette and the Rules of Golf. In addition, each student will receive a certificate for one nine-hole round of golf to be used at either Pasfield or Bergen Golf Course.

The Springfield Park District offers first class golf outing packages designed to fit your personal or professional needs. Both Lincoln Greens Golf Course and Bunn Golf Course are available for private golf outings. Central IL Amateur Golf Tournament

The Central Illinois Amateur Golf Tournament is a two day event held the first weekend in June, since the early 1960's, at Lincoln Greens Golf Course. The event brings together the best amateur golfers in Central Illinois to compete in a two day stroke play event.

Frank Coffey Memorial Jr Tournament

The Frank Coffey Memorial Jr Golf Tournament is a great event for kids ages 8-15! There are four age/gender divisions: Boys and Girls 8-11, and Boys and Girls 12-15. All players are flighted after the first round and compete on the final day against other players within their respective flights. In addition, ALL players receive a gift for participating. Mid-June Annually

Springfield Women's City Golf Tournament

The Springfield Women's City is open to all women high school age and above that live or work in Sangamon County. This fun two-day event has multiple age divisions and even let's you pick your own group! Late June Annually

Springfield Men’s City Golf Tournament

This four-day 72 stroke play hole men’s amateur golf tournament is open to all male golfers that live or work in Sangamon County, Illinois. $125 for Ages 18 and over. Discounted rate for High School eligible players. Top 32 players after the first weekend will play the following weekend at The Rail GC & Illini Country Club. The remainder of the field will play the following weekend at Bunn and Lincoln Greens. Juniors, Seniors and Super Seniors divisions are decided after the first weekend. Early July Annually

Pasfield Parent/Child Golf Tournament

This fun one day event pairs a parent or grandparent with their child or grandchild in an alternate shot format golf tournament. Included in the entry fee are green fees, cart fees, lunch and prizes. Mid-August Annually

Drysdale Junior Golf Tournament

The Drysdale Junior Golf Tournament is four-day tournament for young golfers ages 8-17. Day 1 is a stroke play event. All players are then flighted and compete in a match play format the remainder of the tournament. Mid-July Annually

Round The Town Golf Tournament

The Round The Town Tournament is a 36 hole 2-day/2-Person event that includes a variety of formats of play (Best Ball, Scramble, Alternate Shot & Shamble). Early September Annually

Hy-Vee Turkey Shootout

This FUN 2 day (9 holes per day at Pasfield & Bergen), 2-person event is a great way to getready for holiday season. With donated turkeys from Hy-Vee among the many prizes, why wouldn't you play! Annually in November
