[Springfield, IL] – The Springfield Park District has appointed Nathan Essex as the Director of Recreation and Marketing. Nathan began his full-time position
with the Springfield Park District on March 18th.
With a wealth of experience in education and leadership, Nathan brings a dynamic skill set to his role in enhancing recreational opportunities and promoting community engagement within the Park District.
Originally from Farmington, Illinois, Nathan relocated to Sangamon County in 2002. He is a proud graduate of Quincy University, where he cultivated a passion for community involvement and service. Nathan furthered his education with post-graduate degrees from the University of Illinois at Springfield and Illinois State University, solidifying his commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
Before joining the Springfield Park District, Nathan served as the principal of Auburn High School, where he honed invaluable skills in leadership, communication, and strategic planning. Drawing upon his extensive background in education, Nathan is eager to leverage his expertise to enrich the recreational experiences offered by the Park District and foster a sense of unity and vitality within the community.
